Annabeth's imagination
It's fun to see Annabeth's imagination blossoming. One way I see this is when she plays with her doll house. She got the doll house from one of our neighbors whose daughter outgrew it, and she loves putting the mommy and daddy to bed, putting the babies to bed, feeding everyone, and playing with the babies on their swing, slide, etc. She also imagines now when she's eating her food. I know when she's done eating lately because she'll start animating her food - this piece of broccoli is Grammy, that one is Uncle Earl, etc. Or if she has some food with a little liquid, like baked beans or ketchup, she'll start finger painting on her tray. ("Look Mommy, a circle!") Today when we were out playing at the neighbor's swing set, she found some little blocks of wood, and sat me down at the wood block "table" and feeding me wood block "food". She's so much fun! :) Here is a picture of Annabeth with her doll house.

Bathtime Fun
I gave Annabeth a bath tonight and she was playing with her ducks. She had the daddy duck "jumping" in the bathtub and he was hitting the water pretty hard. Suddenly she stopped, turned him over and said, "Ow, that hurt his bottom!"
She loves her "ducky towel" that we dry her with after her bath, and always asks to put her hands in the little pockets on the side (which have little feet on them.) We taught her that a duck waddles, and she calls these little pockets the "waddles", and says "I want the waddles please, Mommy." Here is a picture of her in her ducky towel that I took a couple weeks ago.

Here We Go!
Hi everyone!
Pat and I have been talking about a good way to keep our friends and family updated with what is going on in our lives. We also wanted a way to document how Annabeth is growing and changing. Recently we've heard from friends who have started a blog for their family, and that seemed a neat way to keep in touch, so here goes! :)
For those of you who haven't heard from us in a while, Annabeth, our little girl, turned 2 at the beginning of the month.
Annabeth and I went shopping this morning, and it's just amazing to see her mind at work when I hear her talk about things at home and while we're out and about. We picked up some Vaseline this morning (which I haven't used on her in months) and she said, "That's for my bottom!".
Another amusing moment: On our way home we picked up McDonald's for lunch today, she started singing on her own"Old MacDonald had a burger" (then we sang verses for pickles and french fries together. :) ). It seems she has linked McDonald's with Old MacDonald in her mind. :)
Well, later today or tomorrow, hopefully I'll get the pictures downloaded from around her birthday, and I can post a few of them here.
